Kenneth Shuler's corporate office team has been traveling around to all of our campuses over the past couple of weeks recognizing our wonderful employees!

During each of the celebrations, there were refreshments, plaques, and gifts handed out in honor of the hard work of each of our staff members.

A special congratulations goes out to Sharon Everett, the director of our St. Andrews Road campus, for receiving the overall "Director of the Year" award.

We also congratulate Lisa Puckett, an instructor at our Rock Hill school, for receiving the overall "Teacher of the Year" award!

We are very appreciative of each of our employees and thank them for the hard work that they put into our schools and students.

Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology was proud to serve as one of the sponsors of Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes Nation” stop in Columbia on Saturday, May 4th!

As part of the sponsorship, Kenneth Shuler Schools was set up all day long in “Kenny Gate 2013,” which was located in the brand new Farmers Market right beside Williams-Brice Stadium.

Among other things, patrons who stopped by our tent could enter a drawing for a chance to win scholarships! (Up to $50,000 was available.)  In addition, guests who came by our booth could also enter a drawing for a chance to win free hair services for one year at the Kenneth Shuler campus of their choice! How cool is that?!

There was also a life-sized Kenny Chesney cutout that people could take pictures with, a prize wheel that people could spin to win gifts, and hair/make-up demonstrations performed by our talented instructors.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by to see us! Thank you for making "Kenny Gate 2013" a huge success!

Pictures from the day's events are up on our Facebook page, so be sure to take a peek!

*The actual winners of the drawings will be chosen at random at a later date.

Congratulations to all of our students and staff who participated in the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals competition on Saturday, April 13th in Myrtle Beach. Our students/staff brought home 7 trophies! We're so proud of all of you and thank you for representing Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology so well!

We are over-the-moon excited for one of our instructors from Rock Hill!

Lisa Puckett found out on Wednesday, April 17th that she was one of three educators chosen from around the country to be a speaker at the CEA Convention in Las Vegas in July! Lisa will make two presentations while at the convention about an innovative teaching technique that she uses in the classroom.

How cool is this?! We're so excited for you Lisa! Kenneth Shuler's staff and students ROCK!

2nd Annual Wine, Dine & Design Is a Success! The 2nd annual Wine, Dine & Design event was held on Monday, March 18th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and was a HUGE success!  Once again this year, Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology served as the presenting sponsor of this premiere, high-end fashion show, which featured boutiques from all across South Carolina.

All proceeds from the event will be given to The Walker Foundation, which is the fundraising arm of the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind.  The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is located in Spartanburg and currently has over 200 children enrolled who have a hearing and/or visual impairment and a multi-handicap including down syndrome, autism and more.  In addition to their on-site enrollment, the school also serves more than 1,400 students in 84 school districts across the state.

Jill Zarin, from the hit reality TV show 'The Real Housewives of NYC,' served as the celebrity guest, alongside local pageant guru Cyrus Frakes.  Hundreds of people showed up for the event, which included both a silent auction and live auction of students' artwork from the SCSDB.

Fundraising results have not yet been announced, but when they are, we will post them here on our website.  Be sure to check out the pictures on our Facebook page!  Thanks to everyone for their support!

KS Campuses Participate in 2013 Souper Bowl of Caring

Kenneth Shuler's seven campuses once again partnered with businesses across the country to help stamp out hunger as part of the 2013 Souper Bowl of Caring event.  Our schools hosted a variety of fundraisers and canned food drives, with all proceeds/items benefitting a local hunger-related charity within the community.

Here were the final results of our efforts:

~ KS North Augusta: $123 and 800 lbs of canned food items for Golden Harvest Food Bank
~ KS Florence: 624 lbs of canned food items for Harvest Hope Food Bank
~ KS Rock Hill: 250 food items (valued at approximately $600) for Pilgrims Inn
~ KS Garners Ferry Road: $331.50 and canned goods for Harvest Hope Food Bank
~ KS Greenville: $168.42 for the Meals on Wheels - Greenville Chapter
~ KS St. Andrews Road: About $60 and 250 non-perishable food items for Harvest Hope Food Bank
~ KS Spartanburg: $164 and 120 canned food items for the Soup Kitchen of Spartanburg

For more information about the Souper Bowl of Caring, visit http://www.souperbowl.org/. Thanks to all who supported this cause!

All seven of Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology's campuses fundraised during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and when the final numbers were tallied, the schools had collectively raised more than $6,000 for the cause! The monies raised will be donated to a women's charity/foundation within each of the communities that we service.

Thank you to all of our staff and students for your hard work! We also appreciate the support of our generous clients! Without each of you, our efforts wouldn't be nearly as magnified.

Cheers to Breast Cancer Awareness!

Congrats to all of the winners from the October 2012 SCACS Competition!
