All of our campuses either have accreditation through the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) or have accreditation pending. This accrediting agency ensures that our schools maintain the highest level of excellence.
Where are Kenneth Shuler’s campuses located?
Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology has seven campuses scattered across the state of South Carolina. We are located in Columbia (we have two campuses here), Florence, Greenville, North Augusta, Rock Hill, and Spartanburg.

Mr. Kenneth Shuler is owner and CEO of the company. Mr. Shuler has been a huge influence in the beauty industry in South Carolina, the nation, and the world for 44 years. He continues to be very active in everything that the schools do including student activities, curriculum, and hands-on training.
How long is the cosmetology program?
The cosmetology program is 1500 hours.

What are your admissions requirements?
We require all of our students to be at least 17 years of age and have a standard high school diploma, GED, or official transcript. Prospective students also need to have a driver’s license or photo ID, as well as a social security card.
Do I need to have any prior experience?
No! All you need is to have a desire to do hair, skin, or nails and a love of the beauty industry! We’ll teach you the rest!
Is financial aid available at your schools?
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Please contact your local Admissions Representative for further details.
Do you have any scholarship opportunities available?
There are lots of scholarships available for potential students! All you have to do is visit the Financial Aid link at the top of the page and scroll down until you see the section on the right-hand side about scholarships. We encourage you to apply for as many as you can! If you’re a high-school student, you should also contact your guidance counselor to see if they have any scholarships available for our school.
Can I transfer hours earned at another cosmetology school?
Yes, you can transfer hours from another cosmetology school. However, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology does have a specific policy on this issue. For more information, contact the Admissions Representative nearest you.
How will you help me prepare for my career in the beauty industry?
Besides teaching students what they need to know for their state board licensing exams, we also teach students how to successfully run a business through our business fundamentals program. We help students with their resumes, assist them in putting together a portfolio for potential employers to see, and teach them basic business skills such as clientele building.
Are there opportunities for personal development while I’m a student at KS?
Absolutely! We give all of our students the opportunity to be a part of a variety of community service projects including Cuts for Cancer, Locks of Love events, and the Souper Bowl of Caring. Giving back to the communities we serve is an important part of the Kenneth Shuler mission, so we encourage all of our students to do their part as well.

Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology graduates are highly sought after because we have an outstanding reputation within the cosmetology industry. Placement is never guaranteed, but our staff will work extensively with you to help you find a position that will suit your needs.
Does Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology do anything fun for me when I graduate?
YES! We want to help you relax on the day that you take your state board examination. So, once a month on exam days, we host a graduation reception for all students who go and take their licensing test. You get to come to our corporate office and enjoy delicious food, mingle with our corporate office staff, and take pictures in a cap and gown! We also give you a little gift to remember the special occasion! It's a fun, fun day for everyone!
How does Kenneth Shuler stay connected to its graduates and other local industry members?
Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology works very hard to stay connected to and involved in the cosmetology industry in South Carolina. Specifically, we have "Ambassadors" across the state. These ambassadors are composed of graduates, salon owners & stylists who meet with KS corporate office staff members on a quarterly basis to discuss industry trends, issues, and happenings.
