HOW TO BECOME A LICENSED INSTRUCTOR:

There are two ways to become a Licensed Instructor in the state of South Carolina. First you must ask yourself whether or not you have been licensed and practicing Cosmetology, Nail Technology, or Esthetics for more than 2 years.

IF the answer is YES...
All you will need to do is complete and pass a 45-Hour Methods of Teaching Course and take and pass a written and practical exam.

IF the answer is NO...
You will need to take and pass a 750-Hour Instructor Training Program and a 45-Hour Methods of Teaching Course. Once those are complete, you will have to take and pass a written and practical exam.

Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology offers the 750-Hour Instructor Training Courses at all locations. The 45-Hour Methods of Teaching Course is offered in Columbia only by our very own Educational Director, Angie Shuler, M.ed.
