Shopping Spree

A cool, brisk feel in the air early Monday morning helped to set the stage for the shopping spree that was to take place. The mission: to prepare a fashionable wardrobe for recent Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology graduate Samantha Emrick’s final interview in New York City as a finalist in the Matrix “Spread the Love” Tour. Leading the pack was fashion stylist, Brian Maynor, who helped add a sense of chic to Samantha’s classic and sophisticated style.

The journey began at Ann Taylor Loft in the Village at Sandhills where classic trousers and a trendy denim jean were on the agenda. Samantha and Brian scoured the racks while Brian also talked to Samantha about image and gave her tips on projecting confidence in her speech and mannerisms. The “Spread the Love” tour is designed to help cosmetology professionals embrace a sense of community while promoting confidence and changing lives.

The shopping spree continued at Belk’s where Samantha added a fashion-forward shoe to her wardrobe – a pair of BCBG suede booties embellished with a zipper on the heel. The outfit that represented her style the most-- a black blazer paired with an animal-print-inspired ruffle top--was found at JC Penney. She is sure to rock the interview set with accessories found at Versona.

The shopping spree and stylist for the day was a congratulatory gift to Samantha from Mr. Shuler and definitely helped to ease the stress of deciding on the perfect emsembles. She was extremely excited about the opportunity and we all look forward to witnessing greatness unfold from her experiences in NYC this week!
