Barbara is a breast cancer survivor for over 20 years and a remarkable woman. Rock Hill Students had the privilege of giving this inspiring woman a makeover. They colored, they cut, performed a facial, manicure, pedicure, make up and more! Barbara said she was really feeling down and then, Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology called with the good news of her win of a makeover and things began to look up.
At the early part of the day, Barbara was charming, talkative and incredibly interesting, but she still felt down. By the end of the day, Barbara said she hadn’t felt this great in years! She had a bounce in her step, couldn’t stop looking in the mirror and was simply jubilant. Barbara’s physical appearance had been updated and she looked amazing.
More importantly, to see the mental (not just physical) effect this transformation had on a woman is what makes our industry simply amazing and sharing this with our students is our mission. Beauty does change lives!
It’s far more than skin deep, it is soul deep.
I’m so proud of our group of students who worked tirelessly all day and with great affection and sincerity and I am honored to have met such a beautiful woman on the inside and out in Barbara!
