Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology held it's first "BOSS" competition-Best of Shuler Schools! This competition was designed to showcase the best of the best in our students in all 7 of our campuses. The students first began in-campus competitions to be selected to compete at the BOSS competition and with students from all of our schools in the state.
If you were at this all day competition and didn't know who was competing, you would have never have guessed that they were students. The work displayed from all 7 campuses by these cosmetology students was outstanding. They cut, they colored, they got creative with avante garde looks that could rival any professional on stage. These students competed individually and also on 2 team events-that's where I think I was most impressed.
To see these budding pros collaborating, sharing and supporting one another all for the common goal is truly where they shined-Rock on!
These students had support from the entire company at this event. Their teachers first and foremost, their directors, their peers, the corporate office (including Tammie Stevens who head up this entire event) and Mr. Shuler himself showed his support and pride in his schools and students. To see the talent and drive from these students truly touched him.
Mr. Shuler and his entire corporate team surprised all competitors and support staff by picking everyone up after the last round of competing in stretch Hummer limos and taking us all downtown Columbia to a 5-star restaurant for dinner and the awards ceremony! It was a delight none of us expected, and one in which I might add, we can get really used to! That's how we roll at KS!
All 7 schools placed and won awards in the 8 categories of competition. I am extra proud to brag on my students here at Rock Hill as they placed in 7 of 8 categories and took 1st place in 4 of 8 and were crowned the overall winners of "BOSS" competition 2011!!
Go Rock Hill Rockstars!!!! (Melissa, Ron, Pepsii and Alecia-Supporting teacher, Ms. Young)
So we are now crowned with bragging rights for one full year (which we will take full advantage of) and hopefully this traveling trophy will come on back again in 2012.!
Congrats sincerely to all the competing students in all campuses, as you truly did impress!
