About ten privileged Rock Hill Kenneth Shuler students heard the words "quiet on set!", "action", and "cut" as they were on scene of the soon to be Hollywood blockbuster film "The Hunger Games" filming in the Charlotte, NC area.
Select students have been chosen to assist stylists working on actors/actresses hair on set, what an honor! Our students have been helping with wigs, prep work and assisting in many ways the professional stylists on the set of the movie. During down times they were invited to watch the scenes AS they were being filmed, and take after take had backstage access to what most of us could only dream of! They watched A-list celebs say their lines and got a sneak peek at what the characters look like and had the experience of a lifetime! Not only is this incredible in just the cool factor of being present, but more importantly, as a legitimate experience working as a hair stylist backstage on the set of a major motion picture.
Our students worked long and hard and earned the right to be there and showed they were worthly once on set. For some students, this opportunity could be a career-shaping experience. KSRH students have beeen invited back to help out on the film set again for most of next week. Me? I'm just like a proud mama.
