Is this Rock Hill or LA?! It has been an exciting week here at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology in Rock Hill. We have been host to Joico guest artist Cherry Pentenbrink and her colleagues while they colored, styled and transformed actors and actress’s hair for the shooting of the upcoming blockbuster film the Hunger Games, filming in the Charlotte, NC area!

Several lucky students have been chosen to perform as assistants to Cherry while she executed her styling expertise here on campus. A few students worked so hard and showed such promise with their professionalism, hard work and dedication to the learning process of this exposure that they have been chosen to work as interns on the movie set!

This is an opportunity like no other that has been possible due to the collaboration of Kenneth Shuler Schools and Joico and the exceptional work and work ethic that our students displayed.

I am so proud of these students and cannot wait to hear all about the experience they had upon their return. This was possible for some students that stepped up, put themselves out there and were not afraid to get their hands dirty with hard work and an ever present positive attitude.

I am always such a cheerleader for students getting involved with the many opportunities provided to them at Kenneth Shuler and this is just another example of what could happen when you put yourself out there! Good Luck and I can’t wait to say, “I knew them when…….”
